JUMP Math

Jump Math's Mission:
JUMP Math's mission is to enhance the potential in children by encouraging an understanding and a love of math in students and educators.

JUMP Math believes that all children can be led to think mathematically, and that with even a modest amount of attention every child will flourish. By demonstrating that even children who are failing math or who are labeled as slow learners can excel at math, we hope to dispel the myths that currently prevail.

Thanks to a visit to Beaverdell I was able to get the inside scoop on how JUMP Math should really be taught.  Boy oh boy did I learn a lot.  I was so impressed with how Mrs. Eaton was able to get through all those lessons in one math lesson.  I am determined to do the same.  Thank you for the inspiration Mrs. Eaton!  Our math in going through an intense "renovation" in our classroom.

Everyday the children will be taught by grades their lesson for the day.  The lesson's will be taught from the Smartboard.  We will no longer be going by page numbers but by lesson numbers.  Below is the format in which we will be doing this lesson.

We completed PA1-4 The Reading Pattern pages 91-94.  Tomorrow we will be moving on to the next lesson.  Any of the work not completed in class will be sent home for homework.  Please review the blog sidebar everyday if you child has come home with their math book (that means they didn't complete today's lesson).

We completed NS2-36 Subtracting by Counting On pages 96-97.  Tomorrow we will be moving on to the next lesson.  Any of the work not completed in class will be sent home for homework.  Please review the blog sidebar everyday if you child has come home with their math book (that means they didn't complete today's lesson).

We completed NS3-42 Pennies, Nickels, and Dimes pages 91-92.  Tomorrow we will be moving on to the next lesson.  Any of the work not completed in class will be sent home for homework.  Please review the blog sidebar everyday if you child has come home with their math book (that means they didn't complete today's lesson).  Grade 3's also will be given tests and I will state on the blog sidebar if that day was a test day.

Here is a few pictures from Today's lesson.

We didn't have time for the Grade 1's Smartboard lesson today so they will be first to do it tomorrow.
