As most of you know, we have butterflies! Almost all the chrysalis have metamorphosed into Painted Lady Butterflies. Everyday we are learning a little bit about butterflies.
Here is the book I created for the kids to do.
The first page they created these Butterfly Life Cycle Books.

The next day, we watched the lifecycle on Brain Pop Jr. Click Here and during the film we had to write out keywords and ideas. This was a challenge for the students to listen to facts and figure out what is important.
Today we had a Butterfly Scavenger Hunt. The kids loved this activity and were running around the whole class.
Tomorrow we will make this pinwheel. Here is the pinwheel worksheet.
Finally, the students researched one butterfly and drew it from the reference. The students then had to label the butterfly and it's three main body parts.
When we finish the book the students will get to take their little books home!
