Jackson Inspired Mural Painting

We learned about Jackson Pollock and were inspired to create our own class mural.  Jackson was all about experimenting with different art mediums and tools.  He created abstract art that had lots of movement, balance, and rhythm.  I thought this tied in really well with our classroom language: reminding the students that as a class, we are a team, working together to create something beautiful. We build each other up and as a class we will thrive!

We are creating our art on a large queen sheet canvas.

Our first step is complete... experimentation with oil and chalk pastels.  We all found something we loved in this painting.  Stay tuned for the other layers to be added.
