Field Trip!

Our first stop for our Field Trip was the Kelowna Museum.  At the museum we learned about ethnobotany (the scientific study of the relationship that exists between plants and people).  We even crushed wild rose, lavender, and sage to take home for under our pillows.  It will help us with sleeping (lavender) , sicknesses (wild rose) , and bad energy (sage).  The room smelled lovely and the kids enjoyed learning about some First Nations plant use.

Our second stop was the Kusugai Gardens.  Here the kids ate their lunch and enjoyed the relaxation of pond.

Finally our last stop was the Kelowna Art Gallery.  The kids took a tour of the temporary exhibit and then learned to do mono-printing.  The teachers were also helping therefore there aren't very many pictures of the Art Gallery.  I will take some photos however when we get the art from the gallery.

I really enjoyed this one piece of work.  This was done by a High School student and I would love to buy it off of them.  Its beautiful!  The work was amazing on display where the kids were doing their mono-printing.

We had a lot of fun in Kelowna.  The kids sure did a lot in a little amount of time.  Thanks to all the parent drivers and helpers we couldn't have gone without you!
