Ms. Liebel's Classroom: All About Bats

It seemed like the perfect time to introduce bats into the classroom. I am excited for the kids to make these amazing bat books.

The first day we created a KWL chart.

We also read a book, Stellaluna, which discusses fruit bats. Here is the video of the book we read. More of these great books can be found on storyline online. This site has celebrities reading to the kids some amazing children's books.

I found this after we completed the unit but Around The Kampfire made this amazing FREE worksheet to use with the Stellaluna book. As well, she made a unit all about this book.

Day Two we will be watching Going Batty with the Magic School Bus crew. We will then add to our KWL chart.

We added more information to our "Learning" section for Bats.

I love The Magic School Bus. The amount of information they consumed in 20 minutes was amazing. Darker Night = Safer Flight!

Day Three we will be making these cool Bat Books. We are going to write all the things we learned in this bat book. The kids are really excited about making these books.
