Happy Monday!

I have been trying out this new reporting/ documenting system for the new curriculum so I took a ton of photos today.  Funny enough, when I come to my blog to post lots of them are of student work!  However, I did sneak in a few gems of what we got up to today.

The Grade 3 students are just finishing up their double digit addition and subtraction.  They are so sick of doing equation after equation (unfortunately lots of practice helps learn the skill!) that I decided to spice up the way we do math with a bit of a Math Hunt!  I took some of the kids equations and spread them around the room and had them run around solving equations everywhere.  They loved it and it worked (they were doing their math and not even thinking about it)!  It's all about connecting both sides of the brain!

I captured some of our wonderful Kindergarten kids sorting their letter sorts.

These two aren't that interested in the camera and I was shocked when both were calling me over asking if they could have their photo taken with the puzzle they solved!  This is one tricky puzzle but they figured it out.

Finally, it is this guys birthday today and we couldn't be happier for him.  He is one special boy and today was his day to celebrate how awesome he really is!
