We always read with a Senior and Intermediate each week. They read so well together and because our school is so close they always get nice and comfortable reading together.
Some of our plants didn't survive so we planted new plants. This was a great opportunity for the kids to see how tiny some of the seeds are. We were all wanting to compare the size of the seeds so that led us to making seed cards.
The kids are IN LOVE with stuffies. They love to share their stuffies, play with them, and talk about them. So I knew this art activity was going to be a huge HIT. I went to Value Village and bought all the funky socks they had. Our caterpillars are getting fat and they will soon be hiking up to the top of the lids so I thought it would be so fitting to make our very own caterpillars.
These caterpillars started off very basic with eyes and and a few pom poms but turned into so much more. They wanted them to have wings to represent what they are transforming into, or to have pieces of fabric to represent the texture of the caterpillar. They all took a different path with their caterpillar and I love that no two are alike.
We are sure creative in our classroom!
