Today in Socials we investigated our community map.  We noticed that the map showed all the ski runs but didn't show the street names or the water features.  We decided we needed a community map that shows more of the community not just the ski runs.

 We worked hard to try and copy google maps version but it was a little tough.

So I started to make a map that we are going to photocopy and find out where the water features are, and where we live.

In writing we learned about capital letter and lower case letters (Grades K and 1).  We underlined all the capitals in some phrases and we noticed that our names begin with a capital.  In Grade 2 and 3 we learned that we write about things that interest us and our readers.  We brainstormed way we can write so others can enjoy our writing too.  For example, neat printing, spelling correctly, punctuation, spaces between our words, interesting subjects, and writing with our imagination.  

We had a bit of time to play this afternoon.  These were some of the more popular things to play with today.
