A Little Bit of Everything in the Month of June

Two more students earned 100 big bucks for completing the 25 book challenge!

We have new book displays for the month of June.  I have these book bags that normally the kids get to take home.  However I thought I would change it up a bit and have all the book bag "stuff" out on display for them all to read.

Mrs. A.T. and Grandma have been coming to visit our classroom (and read to us too) every two weeks.  They are a part of the volunteer Midway Library and the students absolutely LOVE when they come to visit.  We thought we would show our appreciation with a bouquet of flowers.  The flowers are made from their thumb prints and the petals are their pointer fingers.  Arnold even got his paw messy and made a print too!

In Science, we are starting to learn about air, water, and soil.  We are learning about the water cycle and I thought this experiment below would be a great way to show evaporation and precipitation in action!  We also watched the Brainpop Jr. movie on the water cycle.  Here is a link to a similar experiment.

If we have time next week I hope to show the students the Magic School Bus episode "Wet All Over."
