We are continuing to learn about Apples in Science. This week we discussed how seeds can be spread. We started this lesson with an acorn mystery. Who could have possibly moved one of my acorn seeds to my neighbours (Ms. Jones) backyard? The kids loved working in teams to solve this crime.
We also learned more about apples reading the book, Apples by Gail Gibbons and then we talked about labelling.
Finally, on Thursday we had our Terry Fox Run. It was a huge success and the kids all worked really hard to complete our long run (about 4-5 km). The fire fighters even came out to fun with us, do traffic control, and cheer us on! All-in-all it was a great day.
A little fun activity we did after we solved the mystery.

I was inspired to create this apple poster by seeing The First Grade Parade's label posters.
We also dissected a bean seed and found out what each part of the seed and their jobs were. We put our labelling lesson into good use and labeled a large paper bean.
