Science Lesson on Properties of Matter

I just had to add this to my blog.  I get asked lots about the drive everyday from Kelowna to Big White.  I drive up Mon - Wed and then spend one night up here Wed night.  I always give the same answer, "I have the most beautiful drive in the entire world!"  I literally turn off my podcasts when I hit the turn off to Big White and just look around at all the mountains and trees.  It's that strong black and white contrast with the trees and snow that really get me.  I am a sucker for black and white images!  Oh and the sunrise every morning definitely doesn't hurt.  I am in awe of our beautiful community.  We are so SO lucky to live here!

My kids are experts on solid, liquid, and gas.  As soon as they saw these mystery bags they all shouted, "Oh there is matter in them!"  They had way too much fun with this lesson.  They went around to each group and felt the outside of the mystery bags.  They described the matter as best they could and then when we guessed them all we opened the bags to take a look!  This lesson was a home run and the kids were so descriptive with what they were feeling.  I definitely have 19 little mad scientists on my hands!

Here is what was inside the bags!

They were so good with their descriptive words!
