Inspired by this painting by Lara Harwood that I found at a thrift store we created a new art piece today for our fundraiser this Thursday. As soon as I saw this piece I thought of inchie art (small art pieces with intricate details) or trading card art. I showed some artists who create this kind of art and we were inspired to create our own. We came up with our theme, winter, and we got started right away. This art piece was done by one of 1 of the 3 house teams (each class had a collaborative art piece to create).
The finished art piece!!!! It will be on display in our classroom until we HAVE to give it away on Thursday. Is it sad that I might just buy it back?!?! haha. I am getting attached to it. The kids put so much little detail that I have been admiring it and spotting new details every time I look at it.
There is NO way I can spoil this for the kids (so stay tuned for the display) but they are so excited to share their learning in Science with everyone. We discussed as a team what we thought is important for others to know about Matter. They picked their favourite lesson we did and I am so surprised they all picked something different. They really did learn a lot about matter!
