Today we did some experimenting with pastels. I encouraged the kids to show lots of different techniques all on one page. I saw some kids smearing, scratching, smudging, and spreading pastels all over their papers. Some students were even trying water on the paper. We looked at an amazing pastel artist named Trish Acres. Check out her work!
We cut out our favourite techniques on the paper and we are going to make a mosaic of our favourites. So stay tuned!
^^ We also did our first snowshoe of the season today. Well their first snowshoe with me this school year!
^^ We have to give a big thank you to Rodney for helping us today with snowshoeing. He had lots of patience!
^^ We collected nature's beautiful pieces left on the snow for our art class next week.
We did a 30 second silence challenge. We heard the birds, the trees sway, and the forest speak. It was blissful 30 seconds that I will savour (and I hope they did too)!
We made it back! Have a blissful weekend everyone.
