Math Today

Today we had some fun in Math.  We had the younger ones helping each other learn addition and the oldest ones writing a measurement test.

^^ She was helping other add using their fingers!

^^ We sorted out the larger paper clips to use to measure the mass of objects in our classroom.

^^ We first had to make an estimate and then we measured a paint brush.

^^ We measured a snap cube and took the time to count each paper clip one-by-one.

^^ Measuring a penny.

^^ We measured a spoon and the suspense of whether their estimation's were correct was amazing.

^^ They had choice on what to measure at the end.  They chose to measure a marker and they couldn't believe it weighs 20 paper clips.

I worked a lot with the Grade 2's on measuring today.  Math is the most interesting lesson with a multi-grade setting.  I love getting to sit down with one grade and really dive into their lesson with them.  Most of the time I am constantly moving back and forth between groups and getting them started or helping them with a question.
