It sure was a fun-filled Tuesday. We sure do keep ourselves busy!
We started off our day with community circle. I am not too sure if the kids have ever talked to you about it but we all get a chance to listen and speak in community circle. We listen to a particular Grade share sometimes things, moments, or stories. The students are able to ask questions and share connections. We talk about respecting each other in this circle and listening to each other. I often tell the children that we are school family and we need to look out for each other.
Here are some students enjoying some Math free time. It's the time we usually have after Math (10 minutes or so) when everyone is all done their lesson for the day. The things the students can play with are restricted and lots of them are Math "games." Here the girls have made a wonderful pattern.
This group is playing a good ol' game of War.
Another game of War. It's a favourite right now.
And more War!
Today in Science we created Gooey Gunk. I have always had this recipe in my "Matter Unit box" and it doesn't really have much to do with learning about Matter but we talked about the ingredients and the end result all being various types of liquid. However, learning about Matter aside the children did LOVE making this Gooey Gunk. We also did practice filling out our science experiment forms and that was helpful too!
I apologize in advance. They were all so eager and I couldn't say no. But yes, they all did take some Gooey Gunk home. Watch your carpets!!! They all played very nicely on their desks with the gunk so I hope they do the same at home.
As per request of every single student here is the recipe to make it at home. It's amazing slime!
